thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate this - and such user
feedback is what we need to polish ROCK Linux for other end-user.

Yes. On SuSE many things are a bit screwed, e.g. bash, sed, mktemp,
... A cluster at the Humbold University here in Berlin is running SuSE
Linux and many users already start to recommend s.th. different for it
...

Hm - all packages should be found on the CD - if not it is an unclean
build ...

I heared such things a few times now ... Could you please provide the
exact steps you take to install and when error messages happen of
dialogs dissapear? So I can fix those places?

Could you test the quite official ones here:

My official x86 ones are only optimized for pentium-mmx. Yes, I know
there are slower ones, but the desktop disrtribution is most probably
not run on those ...

As written above it would be nice if you could try:

and report any single error happen during the install.
