You cannot. There is no public available firmware for seagate disk. You should ask your hardware supplier for the firmware. 
First of all download seatools enterprise from: http://www.seagate.com/support/seatools
It work also on Linux (but you have to intall j2re.
Also you have to be really carefoully when updating firmware (you can DESTROY your disk):
		- you cannot make an upgrade when disk are connected to RAID card - it has to be normal no SCSI controller (for me it is aic-7902 on Intel motherboard).

		- you cannot upgrade disk wich is currently used as system disk
		- you should be extra carefouly wich selection of right firmware to your disks.
		- if you email me on priv I can give you some firmware (for 15K 18Gb, 15K 36Gb and 10K 36Gb hdds.

Generally all these problem occurs bacause of protocol error on SCSI bus in communication betwean Adaptec and Seagate. Also there was some problem with faulty disk in arrays. I had often situation when arrays was degraded because of disk failure...when I replaced disk and took "broken" one to my test server and test it all day using seatools under linux everything was ok with it...it just works. In my conclusion it is becasue there was some error in communication Adaptec <--> Seagate HDD.

I'm not sure if this will help...but I have a lot of intel servers with
adaptec 2120s and 2200 SCSI RAID cards...I had similar problem, local
intel/adaptec equipment resseler told me that i shoul upgrade firmware on
Adaptec card (to version 6003) and seagate hdds (to version 005). I have
done it and for now problem does not exist...time will show...

Well, that was met with deathly silence - from dell and redhat anyway. 
Given what Vincent said, I take it the situation is:

  1.  This is a common problem being experienced by a lot of 2650
      users running Linux, and

  2.  No one knows what the cause is, ergo

  3.  No one has any idea how to solve it either.

Is that an accurate summary?
