Hi everyone,
I'm one of the many users having trouble with aacraid timeouts/crashes on a PE2650 with Perc 3Di.

After a little bit of testing under heavy loads, I've found out the following:
- the crashes and timeouts don't get better disabling HT, or even downgrading to a non-SMP kernel
- looking at Mark Salyzyn's email listing the various AAC_NUM_IO_FIB values in the different kernels, I've tried downgrading to 2.4.18-3. This one is much more stable (ie. it only times out, without crashing) than 2.4.20-19.7. Again, HT and/or SMP on or off doesn't make any difference.

Still, even the timeouts are annoying. Is there any hope at the horizon?

Another question, since I'm not a kernel-compiling-fan, but I'm more an rpm-installer *grin*: if a new, working driver is going to be released, how am I going to install it on my server, if Redhat doesn't readily build a new kernel with it?

regards
Manuel Wenger
