aacraid status in /proc/?

Hello

This address is listed in the Linux MAINTAINER file as a good containt
for the aacraid driver in the linux kernel.

I work at the University of Oslo, and here we have quite a few Dell
PowerEdge 2650 which are using this kernel module to access the RAID
system.  We currently use various RedHat versions on these
machines. We find it hard to extract the current RAID status, and feed
this info into our monitoring systems.  This is the reason I write to
you.

Would it be possible to extend the aacraid driver to show the current
RAID status in /proc/ somewhere?  It would be nice if it listed the
following information in an easy to parse format:

 - Name of RAID volume
 - /dev/ entry for the volume
 - RAID level (1,5, etc)
 - Status (ok, redused, corrupt)
 - SCSI IDs of disk which are part of the volume, and their status (up
   to date, syncing, hot spare, etc)
 - If the current RAID is resyncing, and how far it is in the syncing.

Are any such changes planned?  If not, would it be possible to list it
in the TODO file, and hope for someone to fix it?

There do not seem to be any standard way to get access to this status
in Linux.  This is a pain for us, with 8 different HW raid systems /
modules.  We need to write monitoring modules for each of them,
instead of being able to use a common monitoring system for all of
them.

PS: The address 'Deanna Bonds <[email protected]>' listed in
  aacraid/README do not work and should probably be removed.
