I have a PE2650, and have put 5 Fujitsu MAN3735MC 68GB drives in. The box as 2GB RAM and two 2.4GHz procs. Redhat 7.3 (kernel 2.4.18-3smp) is installed on /dev/sda. I've run the afacli utility successfully, and have created both RAID0 and RAID5 containers using the remaining 4 disks. The problem is that I'm not seeing very good performance (75 MB/s tops, in RAID0 mode). Using the linux raidtools stuff, I can get over 100MB/s in RAID0 mode. Should I try to obtain the SCSI daughtercard that allows me to split the backplane 3/2, so I can use 2 SCSI channels, instead of just 1?
