According to our afacli person, you might wish to try: >All I know is a command that dumps lots of text, for example if the controller is aac0: > >./aaccli >open aac0 >logfile start /tmp/dumpit >diagnostic dump text >logfile end >exit > >Then look at the bottom of dumpit and that's where the controller put information like what you see in the UART display. Now you know enough to hurt yourself. The controller seems to be locking up or otherwise timing out. We're using RedHat Advanced Server 2.1. The controller sometimes does this at boot up before ever getting to the first stage boot loader. It happens after the perc controller POSTs and before it lists the containers. Other times it will happen after the OS is booted, when there's heavy load such as creating a new tablespace data file in Oracle. In this case the machine becomes unresponsive, the load goes up to about 20, and eventually after 10 minutes or so, the kernel panics in an interrupt handler. We're using kernel 2.4.9-e16smp. I've talked to Dell tech support but we haven't found the root cause yet. I'm trying to figure out what we can do to get more information about what is causing the problem. The docs for the afacli mention the diagnostic boot-params, but they don't give a list of them and I can't find a list anywhere on the net. Does anyone have information on some boot-params that would be of use to me in debugging this issue? I'm thinking there's something like the diag-switch? in OpenBoot on sparcs. Thanks for any help. -Kelly -- Kelly Campbell <[email protected]> _______________________________________________ Linux-aacraid-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-aacraid-devel Please read the FAQ at http://lists.us.dell.com/faq or search the list archives at http://lists.us.dell.com/htdig/ _______________________________________________ Linux-aacraid-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-aacraid-devel Please read the FAQ at http://lists.us.dell.com/faq or search the list archives at http://lists.us.dell.com/htdig/
