Performance on Perc3DI Redhat Linux 8.0

Hi,
we have our first PowerEdge 4600 running with RedHat Linux 8.0 and 3 *
72 GByte disks connected as a raid 5 array
(Perc 3DI (driver included in the linux kernel)) with an LVM on it.
I have recognized, that the performance is not very good, but since it
is the first system of this kind,
maybee I am wrong and simply expected to much.
What performance is realistic for such a setting?
If I read a 1 GByte file over Gigabit ethernet (dd if=1000m of=/dev/null
bs=32768) I get about 20MByte/s for the first read.
After umounting and mounting again (on the client), I get about
50MByte/s (I assume the server is caching the data now)
Are ther any tuning parameter, I forgot?
Or are three disk simply to few for a good performing raid 5
I am running ext3 and lvm with a Blocksize of 4kByte.
I attached an hdparm output below.
bonnie++ gives a comparable block read performance (50MB/s)
