Hi Jörg, > I've checked the Makefile, please send the output of > head -5 /usr/src/linux-2.6.7*/Makefile > [mark@localhost mark]$ head -5 /usr/src/linux-2.6.7*/Makefile VERSION = 2 PATCHLEVEL = 6 SUBLEVEL = 7 EXTRAVERSION = -1.494.2.2custom NAME=Zonked Quokka [mark@localhost mark]$ Jörg - apropos of nothing really - a couple of questions: I have noticed a couple of references in recent correspondence about including the driver in the kernel. From a newbie perspective what exactly will this mean? and more particularly: a) what is the likely timescale? Could it be in included in a minor version release - e.g. 2.6.9 or 2.6.10 etc. or will we have to wait for a major version i.e. 2.8.x? b) once included, will it mean that these upgrade problems with each new kernel release will be a thing of the past? Will the major distro suppliers be likely to include GUI configuration tools as they do with some other wireless cards? Just curious... All the best. Mark
