I have no access to the machine with the 2.6.7 kernel right now, and the 
driver compiles perfectly with my other (2.6.3) box.

Thank you anyway for your suggestions, as soon as I am near the 2.6.7 
box, I'll try again.

However, I still can't get my USB adapter to work, as it doesn't get 
recognized properly - I don't even get a

USB device ... (vend/prod xxx/yyy) is not claimed by any active driver.

as suggested in the Berlios FAQ, but only a lame

kernel: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using address 6

But I guess that's a little bit off topic here, I'll have to ask 
somewhere else for hotplug configuration with Debian.
