Hmmm. That's no good at all. I'm using Knoppix as well (although it's really basically Debian with a custom 2.4.26 kernel at this point) and have no problems. I'm using the 0.10 code and not CVS though... could you try with http://download.berlios.de/at76c503a/at76c503-0.10.tar.gz (make sure to rmmod the CVS modules) and see if you still get the segfault? I'd test with the CVS myself but have no wireless network with which to test currently. Also, I've attached my kernel config just in case you want to compare. It's for a notebook so lots of things I don't need (PCMCIA, firewire, etc.) are turned off.
