First of Happy New Year to all!!!! And Thanks for the help so far! Here is where things stand with error messages: make CC [M] /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503.o /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503.c: In function `ieee80211_to_eth': /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503.c:3922: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type CC [M] /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76_usbdfu.o Building modules, stage 2. MODPOST CC /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76_usbdfu.mod.o But, I still get a at76c503.o file and no errors at the end of make. Make install runs fine too. plug-in WUSB11 v2.6 dmesg displays the following usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using address 2 /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76_usbdfu.c: USB Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) handler v0.12beta22-static loading /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503.c: Generic Atmel at76c503/at76c505 routines v0.12beta22-static /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: Atmel at76c503 (RFMD) Wireless LAN Driver v0.12beta22-static loading /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: using compiled-in firmware usbcore: registered new driver at76c503-rfmd usb 2-1: reset full speed USB device using address 2 usb 2-1: device firmware changed usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 2 /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: wlan%d disconnecting /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: at76c503-rfmd disconnected usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using address 3 /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: using compiled-in firmware /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503.c: unexpected opmode 185 from less /var/log/messages Jan 2 22:45:18 atlantis kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using address 2 Jan 2 22:45:19 atlantis kernel: /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76_usbdfu.c: USB Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) handler v0.12beta22-static loading Jan 2 22:45:19 atlantis kernel: /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503.c: Generic Atmel at76c503/at76c505 routines v0.12beta22-static Jan 2 22:45:19 atlantis kernel: /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: Atmel at76c503 (RFMD) Wireless LAN Driver v0.12beta22-static loading Jan 2 22:45:20 atlantis kernel: usbcore: registered new driver at76c503-rfmd Jan 2 22:45:21 atlantis kernel: usb 2-1: reset full speed USB device using address 2 Jan 2 22:45:22 atlantis kernel: usb 2-1: device firmware changed Jan 2 22:45:22 atlantis kernel: usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 2 Jan 2 22:45:22 atlantis kernel: /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: wlan%%d disconnecting Jan 2 22:45:22 atlantis kernel: /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503-fw_skel.c: at76c503-rfmd disconnected Jan 2 22:45:22 atlantis kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using address 3 Jan 2 22:45:22 atlantis kernel: /root/temp/temp/at76c503a/at76c503.c: unexpected opmode 185 So does this mean I am having problems downloading the firmware on my KT133 chip set? Should I try and spend money on a cheap USB hub?? Please let me know.
