Kernel Source - Fedora Core 3

Hello Chaps,

I'm sorry to be so lame but I seem to be in a spot of bother here. I've
just upgraded from Fedora Core 2 (FC2) which I've been using for several
months to Fedora Core 3 (FC3).

The FC2 kernel upgrades always come with kernel-source RPMs as well, so
each time the kernel was upgraded I simply rebuilt my at76c503-rfmd
module against the new kernel source, rebooted and everything was fine.

FC3 no longer has kernel-source RPMs citing a redundancy of effort given
that the source is also included in the .src.rpm

Now when I upgraded to FC3 initially I had no problems installing the
at76c503 driver against the supplied 2.6.9 kernel so I assumed that I
had also installed the source code (without trying). However, when I
updated the packages using RedHat's up2date system I was also given a
2.6.10 kernel. Building the at76c503 against this kernel failed.

I have tried (really!) to follow the instructions here http://wftp.tu-
chemnitz.de/pub/linux/fedora-core/3/i386/os/RELEASE-NOTES-en.html, and
have done so as faithfully as I could as far as step 4. I'm not sure if
I should do step 5 (make oldconfig) or even if I've done steps 1-4
correctly.

The bottom line is that when I build the driver I still get the
following error :

Can anyone help me with step-by-step instructions?
