Problem with kernel 2.6.11 r5

I have followed this problem up till this thread/post.

My situation is identical to Bryon except that my grep iw_handler_set_spy 
/proc/kallsyms command produced no output.
ALso, i have checked and verified that at76c503.ko depended on 
at76_usbdfu.ko with the exact path that was listed using the find command.

Please advice.
