"rmmod at76c503-rmfd" will hopefully unload the old driver.  You might
need to "ifconfig wlan0 down" first if it complains about the driver
being busy/in use.

Once you remove the old module, just copy the new binary into place
("make install" ought to work) then hopefully your usb hotplug will load
the new driver.  Otherwise, just do "depmod -a; modprobe at76c503-rfmd"
