incompatible to what, to the hardware? If 0.90.x works the hardware can't
be much different from others. And why does it work in one mode, but not
in the other?

AFAIK you need, at least, to sign NDAs from Atmel and RFMD (Intersil?) for
the datasheet of the chips, need to know the different schematics (Accton,
Linksys WUSB11 v2.6, normal RFMD, ...), do a FCC conformance test of the
new firmware etc. I guess the NDAs will prevent you from releasing the
source anyway :-((

If you want to start, I've got some ideas how the interface to
the host driver should look like.
