Hi Brenton,

The regulatory domain values and properties are fixed inside the 
hardware of your network adapter, so it is up to the manufacturer of the 
hardware which domain is used, it is not a function of where you 
purchased or use the device (and it is not vice-versa either).

Your device is limited to channels 10-13.  Other station and Access 
Point hardware available in Australia will likely be of the US or Canada 
domains, and these have channel ranges of 1-11, so the overlap is 
channels 10 and 11.

With the at76c503a driver, you don't need to specify the channel number 
in the iwconfig command, just configure your device with the right 
essid, mode and wep settings, and it will adjust itself to the right 
channel - well, that is what I find I am able to do.
