no idea where this activity come from (never seen these errors before).
Do you have CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y in your .config? Try without.

no, sorry. Downloading the firmware to the device usually takes seconds,
not half an hour. Maybe some other software tries to access the device.
I'm off for the next three days - will look closer into these error msgs
afterwards.
