Our theory was that some strange condition on the USB bus (error) confuses the WLAN adapter and/or host controller. Hav you got a CardBus slot and could you get a USB-2.0 CardBus card for a test? You may need external 5V power supply as the WLAN devices consume some 400+ mA peak. Ourwise you may also try an external self-powered USB-hub. /Jörg
