Hm, Olaf Glage once had sudden stops with this USB controller, too (mostly
private mail, some he posted into the list).
He said the current revision is 42+. We never figured it out completely, he used
another USB controller. Our theory was that some strange condition on the
USB bus (error) confuses the WLAN adapter and/or host controller.

Hav you got a CardBus slot and could you get a USB-2.0 CardBus card
for a test? You may need external 5V power supply as the WLAN devices
consume some 400+ mA peak.
Ourwise you may also try an external self-powered USB-hub.
