I am trying to install a driver for my Belkin F5D6050. My distribution is debian sarge, which is kernel 2.4.22. This Belkin unit works fine on the machine when running Windows '98 and using the Belkin drivers off the CD. Unit has a small white sticker on the back that says "ver. 100" and "Made in Taiwan 146000013700E R03 MH" is printed near the bottom of the underside. I believe I have compiled the drivers successfully, but I am not sure. I get the following error messages when using the two different drivers: with atmelwlanddriver-source package: insmod usbvnetr.o, dmesg shows the following: usb.c: registered new driver usbvnetr Then, plug in the Belkin and dmesg prints out: hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-1, assigned address 7 usb vendor/product=d5c/a002 state change 0 -> 0 flags 00000188 FCU ok 00000188 ctrl_wait c79a6360 Adapter c1f84000 ctrl_wait c79a6360 wait @ c65bfe9c Adapter @ c1f84000 usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 344 GetOpMode: ctrl_urb->status 0 DevMode 0 remap vnet_kernel.c: Reseting Usb Device vnet_kernel.c: Reset completed. usb.c: unable to get descriptor vnet_kernel.c: Get configuration failed vnet.c: Device Reset failed vnetusba.c: device initialization failed state change 11 -> 16 usb.c: USB device 7 (vend/prod 0xd5c/0xa002) is not claimed by any driver. I get the exact same problem when using the latest release from the sourceforge website. --------------------------------------------------------------- with drivers compiled from at76c503-0.11.tar.gz, I get unresolved symbols when I try to install the driver: debian:~/at76c503-0.11# insmod usbdfu.o debian:~/at76c503-0.11# insmod at76c503.o debian:~/at76c503-0.11# insmod at76c503-rfmd.o at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol usbdfu_deregister at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol usbdfu_in_use at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol at76c503_usbdfu_post at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol at76c503_delete_device at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol at76c503_do_probe at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol usbdfu_register debian:~/at76c503-0.11# debian:~/at76c503-0.11# lsmod | grep at76 at76c503 55648 0 (unused) usbcore 52588 0 [at76c503 usbdfu usb-uhci] debian:~/at76c503-0.11# Thanks, -Jesse Any ideas have how to debug this? It just says "vnet_kernel.c: Get configuration failed", but it doesn't say what to do about it. The driver is matching when I insert the USB cable. But then maybe there is a problem loading the firmware? The device initialization fails. Then when I do a soft-reboot into windows, the adapter doesn't work. I have to unplug and re-plug and then it works again in windows. Thanks for any help. -Jesse __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
