Hi Joerg, I'm writing using my wlan connection! Here is the output, and it shows the problem: debian-/[email protected]:/root/at76c503-0.11$ nm usbdfu.o | grep usb_deregister U usb_deregister debian-/[email protected]:/root/at76c503-0.11$ now for usb core: debian-/[email protected]:/root/at76c503-0.11$ nm /lib/modules/2.4.20-3-386/kernel/drivers/usb/usbcore.o | grep usb_deregister 00000056 R __kstrtab_usb_deregister_R7644cd02 000000d4 R __kstrtab_usb_deregister_bus_Rbd79ad7b 00000018 R __ksymtab_usb_deregister_R7644cd02 00000040 R __ksymtab_usb_deregister_bus_Rbd79ad7b 000001c8 T usb_deregister_R7644cd02 000008f4 T usb_deregister_bus_Rbd79ad7b debian-/[email protected]:/root/at76c503-0.11$ So there was a MODVERSIONS problem. I never figured it out...but after I rolled back to kernel-2.2.20 I did manage to compile usbvnetr.o *without* modversions, and that installed fine and recogized my card: # dmesg | tail -8 usbvnetr: driver version 1.0.1, compiled Jan 8 2004 00:48:02 (dbg_mask x0) MAC addr 00:30:BD:64:B3:07 firmware 0.100.2.16 Multicast is enabled vnetusba.c: usb eth0 initialized and registered ********************** REASSOCIATION RESPONSE ********************** Woo hoo! Thanks for the help. Hopefully this driver will get into the debian binaries. Do you know why it is not included in the kernel? Do we have to wait until 2.7/2.8 now? Thanks, -Jesse --- Joerg Albert <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > On Wed, 7 Jan 2004, Jesse Hammons wrote: > > > ... > > with drivers compiled from at76c503-0.11.tar.gz, I get unresolved > > symbols when I try to install the driver: > > > > debian:~/at76c503-0.11# insmod usbdfu.o > > debian:~/at76c503-0.11# insmod at76c503.o > > debian:~/at76c503-0.11# insmod at76c503-rfmd.o > > at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol usbdfu_deregister > > at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol usbdfu_in_use > > at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol at76c503_usbdfu_post > > at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol at76c503_delete_device > > at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol at76c503_do_probe > > at76c503-rfmd.o: unresolved symbol usbdfu_register > > debian:~/at76c503-0.11# > > What's the result of > nm usbdfu.o | grep usbdfu_deregister > in the driver's source dir and in the modules dir > (/lib/modules/`uname > -r`/...)? > > Did you get any errors/warning during compilation, did you call "make > install" afterwards? > > /Jörg > > _______________________________________________ > Atmel-wlan-usb mailing list > Atmel-wlan-usb-ikZNBd7uB5wQUIZIPwn63sWURRETrGNnG9Ur7JDdleE@public.gmane.org > https://iprserv.jura.uni-leipzig.de/mailman/listinfo/atmel-wlan-usb __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
