So in short the steps are:
- Add a new entry in /etc/apt/sources.list for the unstable sources
- Change to /usr/src/modules
- run "apt-get source at76c503a-source"
- Change to your appropriate kernel path, e.g. /usr/src/linux
- run "make-kpkg modules_image"
- install resulting module package from /usr/src
