help!usb device not accepting new address!

  I down the new driver "atmelwlandriver-3.4.1.1.tar.bz2"from "atmelwland=
river.sourceforge.net",make config,all,install.depmod  are fine .but when=

  it looks like the usb cannot accept the new address.how can i fix it?

  my pc is redhat9.0 with the 2.4.20 kernel.the usb wireless device chip =
is 505+2958,vend/prod  :(0x12fd/0x1001)
