Netgear MA 101 doesn't seem to work with RedHat9 while works with RH8

Hi.

I have a Netgear MA 101 rev.B. It is supposed to work with usbvnetr driver.
And it also does, but apparently not on RH9. Since I upgraded my box from RH8
to RH9, it loads the module, but the module does nothing noticeable (precise
description below).

I thought maybe the hardware got broken, but when I try it on a different
computer (RH8), it seems to work without problems.

I tried release 2.1.2.2, 2.1.1 and CVS snapshot from 13.6. with the same
results.

It compiles without problems, there aren't any warnings. This is what syslog
says upon pluggin it in:

That's it, nothing more (driver was compiled with debugging on). lsmod shows

ifconfig eth1 (eth0 is ethernet) shows:

On the other machine where it works, the "registered new driver" is
immediately (same second) followed by a
kernel: usb vendor/product=864/4102
and lsmod shows usbvnetr being in use. both ifconfig and iwconfig show
meaningful data.
