I've been working pretty much lately so I haven't had the time to test 
again. But I tried the at76c503-i3863-driver today, and executed the 
command you told me ("iwconfig wlan0 essid <ssid> mode managed"), and 
now it just works. ;)

Pretty strange though, the link quality and strength is all reported at 
0 by iwconfig. But, as long as it works... :)

Thank you very much for your answers and time, Jörg! Now I can finally 
get rid of windows. ;)
