What's the brand of this AP? You don't have an airtrace of the
failed association with this AP (e.g. by a second Prism2 (Orinoco?)
device)?

I'll try with mine next time I need to test and send you the steps

IMHO at least as stable as the Sourceforge one; there were few reports
about crashes/locking devices mainly related to some old revision of USB
host controllers which I couldn't reproduce at my site (run ~8 GByte thru
it). And IMHO it's much easier to solve problems at your site (than with
the SF one) due to its debugging output.

Where do you want to use it?
