Hi,

I have posted on this issue back in April. As recommended, we had made
changes to /proc/sys/vm/bdflush:

40 0 0 0 100 500 200 0 0

However, the problem resurface lately. The default route of the server
would 'disappear', halting all services.

Here's the server info:
Linux version 2.4.18 () (gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-81))

eepro100.c: $Revision: 1.36 $ 2000/11/17 Modified by Andrey V. Savochkin

eth0: OEM i82557/i82558 10/100 Ethernet, 00:03:47:79:CD:6A, IRQ 16.
Board assembly a29355-003, Physical connectors present: RJ45
Primary interface chip i82555 PHY #1.
  General self-test: passed.
  Serial sub-system self-test: passed.
  Internal registers self-test: passed.
  ROM checksum self-test: passed (0x3258698e).

Is the bdflush setting alright? What else can we finetune?

Thanks,
Wei Keong
