Hmmmm, other similar reports are all on 2.4.18.  That might be a
coincidence...

What chip does your system use?  In this case we need the numbers
printed on the chip itself.

The chip is missing from I/O space!
The next time this happens, please send the entry from 'lspci' or 'cat
/proc/net/dev'.  We are looking for changes from the normal device report.
