82557 doesn't receive last one byte...

Hello,

just a tech. hint i require,

have anybody came across any situation where your NIC card receives one
byte less than data put on wire by remote host.

like in my case my 82557 says 341 bytes as receive count for a bootp reply
from a bootp server while bootp server sends a 342 byte packets as shown
in ethereal and tcpdump log ..also 342 is standard size for bootp reply.

below i a have pasted log of ethereal/tcpdump which sends 98 byte packet
but my etherbot 82557 card reports only 97 byte packet( LAST BYTE 0x37
IS MISSING)

this is not merely case of bad reporting of receive count only rather last
byte is actually not received as evident by dump of packet.
