Sorry, probably I didn't make myself clear enough. With both NICs
enabled, the
sympton is PING simply hangs (no ICMP errors or whatever); I need to
CTRL-Z
and KILL to stop it.
Anyway, I presume you are right in suggesting an hardware problem. Lots
of
people have issues with this mobo; I've also tried with kernel 2.5.70.
It 
solves the DMA and ACPI issues but doesn't seem to solve this one.
Anyway,
In /proc/net/dev I see Transmit/fifo column increase to the number of
packets
I try to send (that is, after a PING I get 3 packets and 126 bytes
transmitted
And 3 in the fifo column; everything else is 0). I don't know if this
makes
Sense to you.
