I just found the problem. The switch is either broken or is of bad quality. 
Even in port 16, it would not work correctly. I started getting lots of NFS 
errors. After loosing about a day tracking the NFS problem i just switched 
the switch with 8port one (a longshine of the same model i had before this 
one) and now it gets link in all ports but the 8th port. But the good news is 
NFS started working great immediately. Just switch switches again and the NFS 
problems come back.

It just seems i got a rather picky EtherExpress :) Atleast now i know it isnt 
the card thats at fault here.
