Driver question

I'm using VMIC VME7740 board with Intel 82557 with dual ethernet ports. I'm
runninf Red Hat 7.0 and using eerpo100 driver. One port is tied to a machine
which boots up in 10mbs mode and then switches to 100mbs mode. My machine
will not automatically detect switch-over to 100mbs. It does switch only
after I disconnect ethernet cable and then plug it back in. Do you think
that this may be a driver issue???
