please are you using linux (what distrib) or windows (what version 32 /
64bits)?

if on windows your stick already have standard cd/dvd driver that has
standard dial-up to connect web (for example zte MF190 HSUPA usb stick).

if on linux you could use your terminal dial-up  (pppd)   package wvdial
IMHO is very ease to use.
