gammu-smsd won't initialize device

Hi,

I'm running an Ubuntu 16.04.1 x86-64 machine.

I've following USB modem:

pep@pp-1:~$ sudo gammu identify
Device               : /dev/ttyUSB0
Manufacturer     : Huawei
Model                 : unknown (K4505)
Firmware            : 11.828.03.01.11
IMEI                   : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I can use it properly to send SMS :

pep@pp-1:~$ sudo gammu entersecuritycode PIN 1234
pep@pp-1:~$ sudo gammu  sendsms TEXT 0123456789 -text "a simple test"
If you want break, press Ctrl+C...
Sending SMS 1/1....waiting for network answer..OK, message reference=3

Works flawlessly.

I'm trying to make the daemon gammu-smsd running, but it fails to start;
that's an extract from the logs :

sentsmspath = /var/spool/gammu/sent/
errorsmspath = /var/spool/gammu/error/

(parameters are identical to the ones used in working gammurc)

Any idea what's wrong with the daemon ?
