Not sending ssid with AR9462

Not sure if this is the right place to ask a user question. My
Qualcomm Atheros ar9462 is not sending my ssid when I start hostapd
and I get no errors. The kernel loads the ath9k driver and iw list
shows. I can scan an see local ssid, but I can't make AP mode work.
