Hi, Paul and Ed!

Don't know why Cory didn't provide an answer to Paul's last question
(below), which would also at least partially address a concern raised
recently by Ed in discussion of the ScanJet 5550 (? I think it was),
as originally (on 4 Aug 04) asked by Catherine Hanson.

I'll take the liberty here of reposting his direct response to the list
to a similar query from me that he made on 21 Apr 04:

A drawer statement is a document that we can present to our customers
when ever we run into issues like this. It is a vanilla statement
generated by marketing and several other groups. It will state our
intentions and the general direction we are moving. It will also give a
timetable and some other details but will be very light on anything
technical...
--------------------------------

Hopefully this is of some use. Since a few (4) months have passed now and
there doesn't appear to be anything on the web site that would look like
to be a "drawer statement", or any further status on "another solution",
maybe Cory would find it appropriate and useful to update the list or
the site (or both) at this time.

Cory - also, if you have access to individual email addresses, maybe you
could forward this posting or your reply directly to Catherine. I didn't
see that one, don't have her original email from that date, and can't
get her address from the list. But it seems as though she might be
interested in whatever the current status of such things is, and might
not be subscribed at this time.
