I'm Presuming here that you have checked that the relevant servers are
running:- cups, cups-lpd, hpoj, httpd, ptal-init, xinetd

&

on the cups page the printer is accepting jobs and is started.

there was a problem with ptal-init where it didn't like the 'LANG='
shell variable set to anything but 'C', but I guess you've caught that
one!
