Hello I wated to setup an HP OfficeJet G55 on a debian sarge, so I followed EXACTLY what was written in the following HOWTO : http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/install.php The printer is discovered by my linux box : Jun 10 14:58:26 neo kernel: hub.c: new USB device 02:00.0-1, assigned address 2 Jun 10 14:58:26 neo kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x3f0/0x11) is not claimed by any active driver. Jun 10 14:58:31 neo kernel: usb.c: registered new driver usblp Jun 10 14:58:31 neo kernel: printer.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 2 if 0 alt 0 proto 3 vid 0x03F0 pid 0x0011 Jun 10 14:58:31 neo kernel: printer.c: v0.13: USB Printer Device Class driver Jun 10 14:58:31 neo usb.agent[14201]: printer: loaded successfully I can then set it up under cups, as explained in the HOWTO. Then I try to print something, it says OK, but never prints anything. The weird thing is that when I go on the CUPS page, I can see the printer, and when I click on "print test page", I have the following error : "You don't have permission to access the resource on this server." --> OK, it doesn't really matter, just a CUPS misconfiguration... If I use kprinter, I can confirm CUPS is bad configured : ERROR : The IPP request failed for an unknown reason... So : which way do I have to test that the hplip installation worked !!! (just print a test page would make me SO happy...) Oh, and btw, if anyone has a solution for my CUPS problem....
