officejet pro 1150c not working anymore

hi

after updating my kernel, i've been trying to print some stuff, but to 
no avail. sometimes, when i try to print a test page, it will print 
about a quarter of it before just stopping and doing nothing more ... 
i've tried adding and readding the printer and going through ptal-init 
and stuff. i'm using fedora core 4 with the kernel 2.6.13.rc6 and 
realtime-preempt patches (it has worked on a similar setup).
