I'm trying to setup printing in Kubuntu 5.04 with a psc-1315. Installed libusb, libusb-devel, hpijs and hpoj. When I browse to localhost:631, cups finds the printer and I can send a test page to the printer, but it never prints and anything else I try to do brings up a request for a username and password. The username is already set to "cupsys." It won't take any password and I can't do anything with it. The first time through, I was asked for a password and I invented one, but this has never worked and neither does the root PW or my user PW, nor any combination of usename/password. When I power the printer up, it prints a test page, but when I send a file to be printed with 'lpr,' it goes into the queue, but nothing is printed. I can't cancel jobs because it wants that password. I sure need help, bruce libusb_0.1.10a-4_i386.deb libusb-devel_0.1.10a-4_i386.deb hplip_0.8.7-4_i386.deb hpijs-2.0.1 hpoj-0.91-3ubuntu4_i386.deb ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
