PSC 1410

I have this model, and i've experienced that when scanning something, I see 
some white artifacts and the detail isn't great at all.

furthermore, i seem only to be able to scan until 600dpi , while i was under 
the impression that this model was able to scan at 2400dpi.

i have scanned stuff, but i cannot add it as attachment, since the mail would 
be too large...

do you have any idea how to improve the image?

maybe some extra parameters in the config files?
