why iwp_rx and ieee80211_rx

Hi everybody:
  I'm reading the source code of the IPW2200 device driver,and a question still feaze me.why there are two receive functions in the Ipw2200.c,what's the difference between the ipw_rx and ieee80211_rx. 
  Can you help me.
