Unable to see Tx frames and only select Rx frames with ipw2200 rtap patch

Hi,

I've applied the "Enable rtap interface for RF promiscuous mode while 
associated" patch to ipw2200-1.1.1 (kernel: 2.6.16) and am facing the 
following problems. Note the rtap  filters have been set to enable Rx/Tx 
management frames and the mode is set to managed

(1) Ethereal capture for rtap interface does not  display any management 
frames transmitted by the wireless card
(2) Ethereal capture for rtap interface displays only Probe Response 
frames received by the card. No other management frames received by the 
card are seen in the capture. (Association request, Authentication etc 
don't show up)

Is setting the mode to "managed"  a supported configuration to view 
wireless frames?
Appreciate any help to resolve the issue.
