Both IPW2200BG and > IPW2915ABG cards use the ipw2200 driver, but the former doesn't have the No, both machines use an IPW2200BG network card. > > A band support. You can verify with your dmesg. For example: > > Detected geography ZZA (11 802.11bg channels, 13 802.11a channels) I just copied the corresponding lines IBM machine: ipw2200: Detected geography ZZR (14 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels) Fuijtsu-Siemens laptop: ipw2200: Detected geography ZZR (14 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels) At the moment I stop trying to get passive scanning working with the IBM machine because the Fuijtsu-Siemens laptop works fine with passive scanning. Unless nobody else reports problems with passive scanning I guess this is a problem with my machine and not a problem with all IBM R51 laptops. ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
