Frame Identification

Hello there, As part of my experiment with IPW2200BG WiFi card, I need to monitor the type of frame received. For example, as you know, every DATA transmission in IEEE 802.11 often involves RTS-CTS-DATA-ACK handshake mechanism. Hence, whenever a node receives a frame, is there any for it to determine whether it is an RTS, CTS, DATA or ACK frame. Thanks in advance for taking your invaluable time to answer my question.
