Consequences of "hwcrypto=0" ?

After waiting patiently for an ipw2200 version (now up to 1.2.0) that doesn't suffer from the (dreaded, and thruput-killing when it happens) firmware error restarts, I just gave up and did "hwcrypto=0". I've got a fairly fast laptop (2.0GHz P4-M), and my connection has been able to handle my 12MBit/sec's cablemodem speed at full thruput, so am I really slowing my system down by having the CPU do the decryption? Has anyone tried to seriously document the usage difference? -Kenny -- Kenneth R. Crudup Sr. SW Engineer, Scott County Consulting, Los Angeles H: 3630 S.
