ipw2200 (on ipw2915hw) does not load firmware on S3 resume

Hello,

I'm the owner of a mini-pic 2915 card. S3 works correctly on my laptop
with the exception of ipw2200 not being able to load the firmware on
resume. Kernel 2.6.20; also tried with ipw2200-1.2.1.

The symptoms don't change when ipw2200 is removed from the kernel
before suspend: loading fails with the same message after resume.

"iwpriv reset" doesn't help, as well as rmmod ipw2200/modprobe
ipw2200.

So when resuming, the boot firmware seems to load correctly, while
later it seems that even the boot firmware does not load correctly.

A pre/post comparision between the PCI config space of the ipw2200
does not show any differences.

Any hints? Unfortunately the remove/reload workaround doesn't fix this
problem. So, S3 becomes pretty useless when one is not able to work
after resume. Thanks in advance, and please feel free to ask for
excessive experimental patch testing/or other logs.
