I noticed talk of 256bit WEP keys on this mailing list. I have been using a 256 WEP key for a while now, nd using kwirelessmanager to manage the connection. For some strange reason kwifimanager no longer lists wireless networks. The bug has been recorded before. So now I need to enter my key by some other means. Other GUIs don't seem to work (kwifimanager, wireless assistant). So I try iwconfig to do it by hand. Unfortunately iwconfig truncates my key to 32 characters. The same is true of /etc/network/interfaces && /etc/init.d/networking restart Also entering a WPA key in /etc/network/interfaces doesn't work (was getting desperate by that point). - Yet I know it is possible because when kwirelessmanager works it is fine. How would you guys enter a 256bit key? If it's relevant I use a 2200bg (my USB wifi adapter freezes everything when inserted...) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
