you AP is open/unencryped, so I assume you're not using wpa_supplicant.
In any case, if you're using any deamon to setup the link, try disabling all
and to a manual configure.

possible - try a mix: take the kernel from those distro that work and install
& boot Debian, see what happens; if that works, bug Debian's BTS.
