Hi, I'm using ipw2200 card(ipw2200-1.2.2 driver, ieee80211-1.2.18 subsystem) on 2.6.23 kernel. I'm trying to understand the driver code so that i can modify it to suit my preferences. Can i know how far the management frames are dependent on firmware? I also wanted to know if, by modifying the driver code, it is possible , i) to receive a disassociation frame and still keep rest of the system unware of it?(including the firmware) ii) to fake disassociation on my system without sending or receiving such a frame?(including the firmware) I'm trying to do an academic project and your inputs will really be helpful.
