git-diff is empty doesn't mean your working tree is identical to HEAD.
For example, try modifying some files, git-add them, git-diff will also
be empty. So I'd rather trust git-checkout -f.

I just realized Linus has merged wireless-testing yesterday. So please
pull latest vanilla and reapply the patch.
